In Vienna, in the Museum of applied arts (MAK) is exhibited a huge
nine-parts study for a mosaic for a dining room in the Stoclet Palace, painted by Gustav Klimt
in 1910–1911. On the most right panel, “Die Erfüllung”, a tight embrace is portrayed.
But in Klimt’s paintings I love fantastic patterns more than formal story. And here I was interested in a square block on the man’s garment. And this fragment became the basis for my dedication.
My task was to arrange the variety of this square. I took as a basis the grid of “
Sequential landscape”, dedicated to Pierre Alechinsky, and filled all blocks by rectangles of three colors in different ways.
